This is the latest summer-style Barbie dolls released in Tokyo last June.
Chinanews, Beijing, September 6 – An exhibition of nearly 1,000 rare Barbie Dolls and Lego toys will be held in January 2008 to January 2009 in several Chinese cities, including Chongqing, Qingdao, Changsha, Hangzhou, Kunming, Shanghai and Beijing.
MWS Germany will provide the items on display. Movies about the history of Barbie Dolls will also be shown at the exhibition. A costume design contest for Barbie Dolls and a Barbie Doll cosplay show will also be held. So far, similar exhibitions were held in 35 European cities.
Barbie is a best-selling fashion doll launched in 1959. The doll is produced by Mattel, Inc., and is a major source of revenue for the company. The American businesswoman Ruth Handler (1916-2002) is regarded as the creator of Barbie, and the doll's design was inspired by a German doll called Bild Lilli.
