初中生生态主题英语演讲稿 Balance and Peace

Good morning, my dear teachers, fellow students and friends:

   First, I thank you for giving me the chance to stand here. My name’s Christine, I’m from Anji Foreign Language School. Today my topic is Peace and Balance.

   As we all know, 71 percent of the earth is covered by water. We may call it “ ball of water”. But nowadays problem of the shortage of the water is bothering us. And the reason is very simple: We have poured too much waste water into the rivers, lakes and litter trash in the sea. So we deserve to have no clean water to drink!

   Do you love green? I do! Because it can relax my eyes and peace my mind. But do you find the green is disappearing little by little? Man , don’t complain about the dust storm, the dirty air, it’s us who cut down the trees, destroy the forests!

   The fur coat makes you so elegant and graceful. But do you know that your vulgar ostentation is at the cost of the lives of the innocent animals!

   When you move slowly through the city in a taxi, sounds of the horn are continuously impinging on your ears. And when you elbow your way into a noisy, crowded market, tell me your feeling! It may drive you crazy! Overpopulation, another crime, I may say. Look at your watch, one minute, 259; one hour,15,540. You know what I refer to, new babies. Hour after hour, day after day, use your head to think! I’m sure the figure will astonish you, but that’s true.

   Our nature has given us all that we want, and if we can’t repay it , we’ve also got no reason to hurt it! So, as one of her children, let’s do something that we can in our small ways:the  corners of our neighbourhood, our school and our town are under the need of our protection.

   My dear friends, we humans did something wrong, but it’s still not too late! Let’s correct our mistakes , we balance our ecosystem,and then we get our peace.
