英语演讲稿Make Our World More Beautiful

Good morning everyone .At the beginning of my speech,I’d like to share one of my own experiences with you.

One dawn,there was a lake in front of me;the color of the lake was that kind of blue,matching the mountains backwards,silently at the horizon,which gently touched my heart.Above my head,a few beautiful and lovely unnamed birds sang and flew in the blue,clean and quiet sky.What beautiful secnery!What great peace!It was the peace that can erase all the hatred and dispute;the peace that can erase all the anger and misunderstanding;the peace that can cure every broken heart.

But the global environment has changed for the worse during the past few decades;the reason is that some people only think about their own temporary benefits and neglect the balance between environment,animals and development.So rivers and lakes are polluted,prairies are trampled,wild animals are driven away,and forest disappeared.

So how to keep the balance between environment and development has become the matter of life and death.We can't keep on destroying our environment and harming animals anymore. It’s time for us to find a pattern of development,which can conserve resources and guarantee a clean environment.That’s the sustainable development.It means to meet the need of this generation with the consideration of the need of next generation.It means environment protection and ecosystem preservation.And our country is now carrying on a “green project” to turn out an environment-friendly 2008 Olympic Games.The government encourages us to save natural resources and protect the environment.

So,what’s needed now is to put our words into our deeds.And this starts from every one of us and from every small instance.

It could be as simple as to not litter;use as few plastic bags and boxes as possible;while travelling,whenever possible,use public transportation instead of driving your own cars.As a student,we can also set up a club to protect environment around our school and community with our frineds.One more thing,whenever you see,go up and stop anyone from doing anything harmful to the environment and animals.

So shake hands now as friends to make the nature pleasant and beautiful; to make the earth,our one and only home,a place of love,beauty and harmony.
